Below are pictures of the products we bought for our filming. There are printscreens of the order page from Amazon for the products we bought and there is a picture of Charlotte's eye when she put the white contact lense in her eye.

PLANNING: Construction
As a group we have made a PowerPoint describing the different types of zombie makeups and costumes.
Costume and make up

Below is a picture from Instagram account we set up, this shows some of the pictures we took for our planning. We have taken pictures of us working at the mac’s, drawing out our storyboards and items we have purchased for our filming.
The three of us had set up a twitter account, which allowed us to ‘tweet’ about what we were doing about planning and filming. Below is a print screen of our account. By doing this it allowed us to keep a record of our progress.
PLANNING: Construction
Below are pictures of myself, Charlotte and Alice. Next to the pictures is a little bit of writing explain why we are working with each other.

Charlotte -
Charlotte is a key member of our group and we find it easy to get along with her, Charlotte comes up with creative ideas and this was helpful for planning the opening two minutes. She is good at using the camera and camera techniques.
Alice Mutton -
Alice is 1/3 of our group and she is a key member, Alice is really good at the creative side of media. She comes up with great ideas and opinions. Alice also brings a fun aspect to the group with her sense of humour.
Morgan (me) -
“Morgan is another key part of our group, she is very good at the technical side of media which includes editing and working the macs. Morgan is easy going and therefore easy to talk to and express my ideas with.” – Alice and Charlotte

RESEARCH: Target Audience
Target Audience Research
Below is all the research we have collected for our target audience research. We looked at Amazon to identify what other people had bought with horror films. We also asked a range of people to fill in our questionnaire about horror films.
*MINDMAP OF PLANNING*
When we looked at Amazon, we looked at horror films, then we looked at what other products customers bought. This helped us to identify what our target audience liked and what people think a good combination of films are.
The first film that we looked at was Night of The Living Dead, as we can see from the picture below. This is the 1968 version, the films that we suggested to be bought together were the remake of Night of The Living Dead and the 2004 edition of Dawn of The Living Dead. These films are all zombie horror films, suggesting that they were all bought because of the sub-genre.

Another horror film that we looked at on Amazon was 28 Weeks Later. This is another zombie horror movie. When we looked it up we found that people that bought this DVD also bought other zombie horrors such as 28 Days Later, which is the first of this 2 part sequel and the 2004 Dawn of the Dead. This shows us what other films people like in this genre. These are similar to the films shown on the Night of the Living Dead DVD page. This helps us to get an idea of what it is that viewers like to watch.
To be able to get unbiased results we sent the questionnaire we had designed to 40 people, these people consisted of 10 male teachers, 10 female teachers, 10 male students (ages ranges from 11-16) and 10 female students (ages ranging from 11-16). Not all of the people we asked responded to our survey. For our questionnaire we asked a varied of questions to find out who liked horror movies. We created a mixture of bar graphs and pie charts to show our results. Below is the e-mail which we sent out to the 40 people we asked.
The first two questions we asked were general questions asking about age and gender. The third question we asked helped us to understand which would be the best possible way to target our audience when we and if we advertise the product. The fourth question we asked was if the viewer watches horror movies by themselves or in groups, this allows us to start getting personal viewing habits from our possible target audience.
Questions 5 and 6 gave us an idea of what it is that viewers want to see in a horror movie; by asking them what it is they want to see and what sub-genre they like to watch gives us precise answer to see whether people like the same things.by looking at questions 7 and 8 they tell us how viewers like to watch horror movies.
Questions 9 lets us see if people are influenced to watch horror movies by their friends, this tells us quite a lot about our target audience. Question 10 lets us see if people like to watch the same horror movies or if their preferences are different.
Below are some pie charts and bar charts to show the results of our questionnaires. This pie chart shows the amount of responses that we got back from the 40 people that we sent the questionnaire out to. It shows that just under half of the respondents were in the ages of 10-19.
This bar chart shows us what type of advertising mostly influences them to go and watch a horror film. From the graph we can see that reviews are what mainly influences people to watch horror films.
The pie chart below shows us that the majority of people that responded to our survey prefer to watch horror films in groups rather than alone.
The bar chart below shows us what the people who answered the survey thought should happen in the first few minutes of a horror film. We can see that building tension and a dramatic event is popular.
This bar chart shows us what our respondent’s favourite sub-genre was. From this we can see that comedy was the most favourite sub-genre.
From this pie chart we can see that the people that answered our survey said that they would much rather watch a one off horror film than a sequel film, like Saw.
The pie chart below tells us that our respondent’s would much rather watch a horror film during the evening rather than during the day.
The bar chart below shows us whether our viewers are influenced to watch a horror film by their friends. Most people say they are while a few say they are but only sometimes.

Research Into Similar Products - 2010's
Film: Bereavement
Genre: Horror
Date Released: March 4th 2011 (USA)
Director & Writer: Stevan Mena
Opening two minutes
The film I am going to be deconstructing is Bereavement, which was released in 2011. This film genre is a horror. The MPAA gave this film a rating R.
The establishing shot of this film is an extreme shot of electricity pylon, as this is happening there is a light non diagetic humming sound, also a crow calling out can be heard above the humming. Then jump cuts to shot of field, then pans left to right to reveal an old beaten building with smashed windows, then to a house, the humming becomes deeper. Then again it jump cuts to the door of the house shown before, we an see that the garden is overgrown, but all the bushes and plants are nearly dead, there is a sound of the door unlocking and a loud creaking from the ivy covered door. The shot of the man is a mid shot he is wearing gloves which makes him seem mysterious and dark. The camera work used is tracking, the man's lower legs are tracked down the pathway to the van, this is shot in one continuous shot, as he walks the sound of the non diagetic humming becomes louder and the noise of crunching twigs can be heard from the floor, this builds the tension. The camera continues to track the man as he gets in his dirty, old, muddy, definitely unkempt van, as he opens the door the metal vibrates when he slams it shut again. The noise of the engine is loud, this sound is diagetic. Then it jump cuts again to an eye level shot of the man's van driving off. Then it shows a shot of a road, then the car drives past, as the car is driving the camera starts to crane back out. As it is zooming out if pans from the left to the right to look back at the old factory and again the sound of the crow calling out can be heard, there is also the sound of wind blowing through the old building.
The establishing shot of the new scene is another extreme shot of the van driving through an empty countryside as it is quiet and all that can be heard is the roaring of the old tatted van. There is also a low sound of drum being banged as the film title appears. As the van drives over the bridge there are bangs and shakes of the metal, then it is tracked down the bridge, then to reveal an old wearing structure. It then jump cuts to an eye level shot of the car continuing to travel across the bridge, showing the man driving over a wide river. We can notice how quiet it is and how there are no other cars travelling down the long country road.
The next scene's establishing shot is a high angled shot tilting down, following the loud car down an empty silent street. As he is driving in his van down the road there is a faint diagetic sound of bells ringing. Then it jump cuts to a shot that is angled down to the floor and raises when a young boy walks past on an over grown side walk, we may assume that he is on his way to or from school as he has a large backpack on. The camera is still when the old car drives past. It then jumps into a shot from the car looking through the front window, suggesting that he is stalking or following the little boy.
